Volunteering with PAACS

PAACS primary need is for Christian surgeons of all types, whether that be general surgeons, or surgeons who specialize in a particular type of surgery.  Because resources are so limited in Africa, radiologists, anesthesiologists, gastroenterologists and pathologists are also in demand to train residents.

What if I'm not a surgeon and want to do medical missions?

If you are a medical student, or a medical person who would not be involved in training surgeons, there are opportunities for you.  We've prepared a pdf with additional resources that you can download.  Download the pdf.

We encourage our US short-term volunteers to go through World Medical Mission or Medical Teams International as these organizations do a great job in taking care of logistics, including matching you up with a hospital that fits your area of expertise.

Surgeons not going through WMM or MTI should be willing to do the following:

  1. You must complete a Basic Information Form (BIF)
  2. You must be a sincere follower of Jesus Christ as evidenced by your words, your actions and your lifestyle.
  3. You must be willing to give one PowerPoint lecture each week from our curriculum and a 5-question multiple choice exam for each lecture.

To begin the process, please download both of the following forms:
